Chunky Mohair/alpaca from Unique Yarns is a very luxurious Italian yarn. Mohair's ability to retain warmth is approximately double that of wool, and combined with super fine alpaca, this makes for a very soft and warm yarn. This yarn produces chunky, but at the same time light garments, with a lovely halo effect. It can be usefully knitted on thick needles (5 mm/US 8 and up).
We use acid dyes, which are gentle for the environment and provide vibrant and very durable colors.

Mohair and brushed alpaca are not recommended for children under 1 year, because the child can get the tiny fibers in the mouth/throat.
Hand-dyed yarn, as the name suggests, is a craft, and there will be differences between skeins. There are a few things that might be good to know before you get started:
There is different ways of using skeins, however when knitting garments, we recommend, as good practice, alternating skeins, it’s not usually essential but it does help to spread colours evenly. The Helix method is our favourite technique when knitting in the round. The more colorvariety in the yarn, the more important. This is explained nicely when knitting in the round in this video, and when you knit back and forth in this video.
If you don't want to knit every other round from different skeins (this is done at your own risk 😉), it is recommended to do this a few rounds when changing yarn. This applies regardless of the color of the yarn.
