If you want to knit the jacket longer than the pattern suggests, either on the body or sleeves, you must go up a size.
Novice Cardigan Chunky Edition is knitted from the top down. That is, you start by knitting the purl at the neckline, then the yoke, then the bodice and finally the sleeves. The cardigan is knitted in stockinette stitch, while the edges are knitted in purl. The Novice Cardigan Chunky Edition has a round yoke. It is formed by knitting increases on four needles evenly distributed on the support piece.t.
Size guide and measurements
Note that you can only start from the measurements in the recipe if the knitting strength is respected.
The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a chest measurement of approximately 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120- 130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. Novice Cardigan Chunky Edition should have a range of motion ((positive ease) of approximately 15 cm (ie the cardigan should be approximately 15 cm larger than you in size). This means that if you e.g. measures 88 cm around the chest (measure yourself with a measuring tape around the chest or the widest part of your torso), you should knit size S, which has an excess width of 103 cm. This gives you a range of motion of 15 cm.

Thick mohair/alpaca:
This is truly an exclusive and luxurious Italian yarn. It mainly consists of the finest kid mohair and super fine alpaca, only held together by a little wool anda little bitnylon. The garments knitted from this yarn are wonderfully light and soft, and warm very well in relation to the weight.
Mohair's ability to retain heat is approximately double that of wool. This yarn produces thick, but at the same time light garments, with a lovely halo effect. It can be usefully knitted on thick needles (5 mm and up).
Other information:
47% mohair/31% super fine alpaca/17% merino wool/5% nylon
We recommend that you knit every other round from different skeins to camouflage any color differences. The more colorvariety in the yarn, the more important is this. Kimmie Munkholm shows this nicely when knitting circular in this video, and when you knit back and forth in this video.
If you don't want to knit every other round from different skeins (this is done at your own risk 😉), it is recommended to do this a few rounds when changing yarn. This applies regardless of the color of the yarn.
Please note that the yarn may contain excess colour. Therefore, wash separately the first time.
All knitted garments should be stored flat.
