Handdyed Norwegian wool in shades from the plant kingdom.

Lamull is a 2-thread thin carded yarn made of 100% Norwegian lamull supplied by the well-known Norwegian manufacturer Rauma Garn. This is the thinnest wool yarn from Rauma Garn. Garments knitted in Lamull are light and airy, and are well suited for, among other things, baby garments. Yarn qualities in 100% wool provide garments that warm and breathe even in a humid condition. This makes the garments excellent for hiking and activity, as well as for everyday use.

Lamull is produced at Rauma Yarn's factory in the beautiful Romsdalen. Here they card, twist, spin, wash, dye and skein the yarn of 100% Norwegian wool. This is an all-Norwegian product!

Norwegian wool is especially characterized by good durability, elasticity and resilience. Spun as carded yarn, wool provides the ideal balance between functionality and comfort. The result is light, airy and easy-to-use garments with a long life.

Unique Yarns has been allowed to make our own mark on this fantastic yarn with our unique colors and / or compositions. We use acid dyes, which are gentle on the environment and provide vibrant and very durable colors.

Advice when knitting with hand-dyed yarn

Hand-dyed yarn, as the name suggests, is a craft, and there will be differences between skeins. There are a few things that might be good to know before you get started:

There is different ways of using skeins, however when knitting garments, we recommend, as good practice, alternating skeins, it’s not usually essential but it does help to spread colours evenly. The Helix method is our favourite technique when knitting in the round. The more colorvariety in the yarn, the more important. This is explained nicely when knitting in the round in this video, and when you knit back and forth in this video.

If you don't want to knit every other round from different skeins (this is done at your own risk 😉), it is recommended to do this a few rounds when changing yarn. This applies regardless of the color of the yarn.

We want you to get the best possible result on the knitwear you spend a lot of time and resources on. 🥰

Wash and care of garments knitted in hand-dyed yarn
We recommend hand washing followed by a quick spin, or wool wash program temperature 30°C if you trust your washing machine. Use ONLY detergent intended for wool/silk (Milo or such). Feel free to add a little clear vinegar - this helps preserve the colors. Do not soak the garment.

Please note that the yarn may contain excess colour. Therefore, wash separately the first time.

All knitted garments should be stored flat.
